IEI stands for “Iniţiativa Erasmus Iaşi” (Erasmus Iaşi Initiative), an Association founded in 2009 by a group of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, with the goal of sustaining and developing student exchanges through the Erasmus programme, at local level, in the cultural and universitary city of Iaşi.

The main objectives of IEI are:

to develop projects meant to support Erasmus students:

to offer international students, in the Erasmus programme in Iaşi, information, orientation programmes and social events;
to offer local students, who wish to apply for an Erasmus mobility, information and contacts with student organizations from abroad.

to promote collaboration through educational, professional, social and cultural experience exchange between local students and the ones who take part in Erasmus scholarships in Iaşi;
to direct its activites towards the integration of Romanian higher education in the European and universal spectrum of higher education;
to ensure the free exchange of information between its members, as well as the international students in Iaşi;
to represent the members of the association in relation to higher education authorities and administration, public administration, as well as other national and international organizations;
to promote civic engagement among young people
to promote and defend human rights.
